By lifting the podium and towers, we created a large, protected gathering space for the community. This flowing pedestrian level weaves through the entire site connecting the subway station to the business park and sports center. We activated the roof of the shopping center with various functions giving office workers a place to relax, while maximizing the rentable retail space. Behind the towers is a sports center wrapped with a spiraling running track and an office park of six freestanding buildings raised on pilotis. This opens the ground level for pedestrian movement. Separating pedestrian and automobile access alludes to the garden cities of Le Corbusier. Playful columns and large light wells animate the new urban center tucked under the landmark towers.
